The expected 7/1/2019 managed care change to the Washington Medicaid (Apple Health) adult dental program has been put on hold by legislators. The recently passed state budget provides funding for fee-for-service Medicaid dental services only and suspends any contracts with managed care dental organizations. The budget also requires the Health Care Authority (HCA) to report to the governor and lawmakers on its plan to improve access to dental services for Medicaid clients, including costs for any option provided. This report is due by November 15, 2019.
Again, the planned move from fee-for-service to managed care for the Adult Dental Medicaid Program has been suspended and will not happen on July 1st. WDHA will continue to monitor developments with the Health Care Authority (HCA).more»
