Understanding the New AAP Classifications of Periodontal and Peri-implant Diseases and Conditions CE

Many of the services hygienists provide depend on an accurate dental hygiene diagnosis. And now the World Workshop on the Classification of Periodontal and Peri-implant Diseases and Conditions has been released (June 2018) the details of which are comprehensive and all-encompassing. Clinicians are left with trying to determine how to incorporate this assessment into their daily practice.
Look no further! This course will provide a simple approach and WORKSHEET which can be used to determine each patient’s disease status using these new classifications. Case studies (photos, radiographs and periodontal chartings) will be reviewed so that participants can have a “hands-on” approach to using the worksheet.
Once a diagnosis is determined, then which of the six “cleaning” procedure codes is best suited for each patient? And what is the definition for each of these “cleaning” procedure codes? And is it different from last year? And how are ‘insurance’ carriers reimbursing these “cleaning” procedure codes? Or are they? So many questions!
Come hear the latest responses to these questions as we navigate this often-confusing part of treatment planning for patients with periodontal conditions.
